PARK SMARTER™ Payment Application

SAN DIEGO – May 24, 2017 – Smart Parking Leader, IPS Group (IPS), has announced a complementary addition to its fully-integrated suite of Smart Parking solutions with the  launch of PARK SMARTER™ – a reimagined mobile payment application that provides an easy, time-saving parking experience with perks never seen before with a mobile parking application.

“Using mobile apps to manage parking transactions has become commonplace, but so has the complexity and lack of user engagement,” said Chad Randall, Chief Operating Officer, IPS Group. “IPS designed PARK SMARTER™ to be easy to use, but flexible in capability in order to stay ahead of the curve of what’s possible from a mobile payment application. Users can pay, receive real-time expiration notifications and extend a parking session remotely from the convenience of their smartphone. However, it’s the additional features that will make this application stand out.”

PARK SMARTER™ can be used before the car is even parked. Using the app’s Parking Finder tool, the user can locate available parking before circling the block in search of a space. The Parking Finder tool also works with state-of-the-art IPS sensors to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information on space availability.

Users can then simply log in using the app’s Single sign-on (SSO) capability using the same credentials used as social networking sites. Payment with PARK SMARTER™ is made even easier with Visa Checkout, which enables users to pay for parking using only a username and password, eliminating the need to enter card information or billing address in the app.

An exciting feature that will be added to the app in the next few weeks will be the ability to offer a local merchant rewards program that combines opportunities for local businesses to engage directly with consumers. PARK SMARTER™ is the first mobile parking app using the Visa Commerce Network. The app will include special promotional offers for enrolled US Visa cardholders at local merchants.

PARK SMARTER™ marks another significant addition and complements the fully-integrated suite of Smart Parking solutions offered by IPS. With its integration with the IPS Data Management System (DMS) cities can manage parking policy with live alerts, reporting and data analytics across both meters and the mobile app.
