When visiting the City of Honolulu, you now have more options when paying for parking. In an effort to provide added convenience for customers, the Honolulu Department of Transportation Services is piloting 110 new card and coin parking meters in the Capitol District. The new meters will accept Visa and MasterCard credit/debit cards, in addition to coins. Simply park, pay, and be on your way!

The new meters are easy to use and convenient for motorists, which will help get you to your downtown destination as quickly as possible.

Follow these easy steps to complete an easygoing parking experience:

	Look at the SmartMeter’s lit display to find parking rates, hours, time limits and other pertinent information.
	Insert then remove your debit/credit card. We accept Visa and MasterCard.
	With the blue [+] or [-] buttons, select your payment amount.
	Press green [OK] button to confirm your payment, or red [CANCEL] button to stop your transaction.
	Wait for authorization of the card.
	The display will then show the amount of paid time approved and when your time is up or the meter will request another card.
	Or just pay with coins!
